thanks

i'm from malaysia n i bought v4b recently from a guy (i dont know where the hell he got this old amp from). in here, bassists usually are not particular about amps especially electronics part of the amp.. when i bought this amp, it was damn old, rusted, not working at all, and if you knows anything about electronics and able to repair an old amp, you will be like god hahaha, even i heard there was a guy who eanted to buy this amp before me, intended to send back to the States to repair.. so, i was down and pissed off when it was not working after much effort poured and time, money. finally this page offered lots of informations and stuffs, now i am able to fixed it.. and the old V4B is now rocking on the stage. i'm using it now for my shows. thnaks.

Re: thanks

it ended up that, the V4b circuit was original and never been replaced n i guess it was not working since many2 years... most of the filter caps were not in the good shape.. i've changed the 7027A tubes to 6l6 tubes by changing the bias supply, plate resistors, screen resistors, and many small components and changed the old 6k11 with 6k11 NOS..then replaced the old Malorry's 20/20uf 450 to C-EC20-20-450 and 40/40/40uf 500vdc changed to C-EC40X3-525  from tubesandmore since everything was too old...n i'm afraid it would explode or something...so, better replace it before anything happen. and i ordered and replaced the old CAN COM Sprauge to 40X40X40/450V MULTICAP from fliptops.. this page really helped me, from schematics to the grill n tolex hahahah! finally, all power n pre amp tubes replaced, filter caps, resistors, diodes, n it works! there were to many incidents happened before this old monster of sound back to live..everything took me 2 months to finished.

i play somewhere between rock n funky, blues...i listen to Pink Floyd, a big fan of Roger Waters hahahha! but also, some 60' to 80's band. these bands used the right instruments compare to nowadays band..only some knows about instruments n stuffs.
