Looking to get the MOST VOLUME out of V-4

I play bass through my V-4 and I play it through an SWR 4x10, 8 ohm bass cabinet. I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff, but I'm wondering how to get the loudest possible sound (tube suggestions welcome, I'm currently running 6L6's). Right now, the amp breaks up at about 10 o'clock and then does not get any louder past 12 o'clock. I play in a pretty loud band and I play through a low out-put bass. Any input would be great.

I also play through a higher output bass on this rig and the results are pretty much the same, just with an earlier break up.

Re: Looking to get the MOST VOLUME out of V-4

You aren't going to get any appreciable difference is output no matter what you do.   Your amp is roughly 100 watts... It will never be more than that.   If you run the external amp out into a power amp,  and run another cab... That would do it, but that would require more gear... Also the v4 will break up around 10 o'clock.  It has linear taper volume pots,  you can put audio taper pots in,  but it won't change how loud it gets... Just the number on the volume control that corresponds to the maximum clean output.
