V2 faceplates from Fliptops

I was talking to bruce from Fliptops today about the V2 faceplate

He says he needs TEN (10) CONFIRMED orders to go ahead with the tooling/artwork required to produce the intial V2 faceplate

I'm interested...

Anyone else?

He seems to want anywhere from $50 to $70 for the ones he does sell.  Did he give you a price on the 10?  I want one, since someone poked a hole for a master volume....but that's a major portion of what the amp cost in the first place.

there are actually three versions...

1.  Linden N.J......sharp corner graphics but with
                    no midrange or sensitivity
                    + - setting/range numbers

2.  Magnavox...... sharp corner graphics '72-75ish

3.  Magnavox.... rounded corner graphics  '75 - ?

Did you talk to Jeanne at BNP Lasers?  I'm in a couple groups that use BNP for one-offs and Hiwatt panels.  The details of 'brushed aluminum' can vary, unfortunately.  I'm not sure what they have.

I noticed that the guy (spaceflunky?) who started this rolling, said had a pdf.

Re: V2 faceplates from Fliptops

If one of these faceplate makers offered a re-screen service, I'd be all over that. Having the original aluminum plate is half the battle....as long as it doesn't have a nasty hole in it of course.

If all you need is a re-screen and have access to a hi--res file of the graphics it should be pretty easy to find someone to do that, proabably even locally to you. Any screen printing shop that has experience printing on rigid surfaces (like posters) could do it. As a one-off it might actually cost you about the same as a new plate though.

Re: V2 faceplates from Fliptops

I just acquired a V2 that needs a new faceplate. It's completely bare. Any one else need one? I'm curious as to how many of us there are? If there are at least 5 of us and we each bought 2, we'd have the minimum order of 10 for Bruce at FlipTops to proceed with having them made...if Bruce's offer still stands. The graphics would probably be just one color for this first order which wouldn't be a issue for me. At $69 each plus S&H, it would probably cost each of us ~$150 to get the ball rolling....less if there are 10 of us. I think we could get this done. Any thoughts?

I got a couple of V2's. Don't actually need a new faceplate, but i'm kind of a backup freak. So i'm down for one.

Re: V2 faceplates from Fliptops

I just aquired another V2 with a worn faceplate. I'm up for 2. Maybe this gets us a bit closer to 10?

I just bought an early 70's V-2 with hardly any lettering on the faceplate; I'd buy one if he made them...
