V4 Bias supply question

I'm quite puzzled about the behavior of the bias supply on my V4.
When I switch the amp on I have -567V on power tubes grid, but when I put the stand-by switch on the play position, the bias voltage is correctly set at -36V (I have an adjustable bias).

Looking at the schematic this could sound correct, but my question is: won't the -567V damage the power tubes grid?

Re: V4 Bias supply question

I found that strange but not certain why.  I will say this - from a design perspective, it looks like that stage had a gain of 11, which more or less equals the gain LOST by the baxandall tone stack when set flat. Lean-Six-Sigma yellow Belt Certification Training
