Power rocker switches

I've got an old VT-22 that has a funky power rocker switch.  Anybody know an exact replacement?  I've looked around and there are just way too many different kinds available for me to deal with.  That, and I'm hoping someone here knows the right part.

THANKS!!!!

Re: Power rocker switches

Geoffrey,

I've asked my amp tech and he says no one is making them or a suitable replacement. So it's left to us to find a chassis that is being parted out !!

Tom

Re: Power rocker switches

Geoffrey ,

There is an Ampeg VT-22 parts head on ebay right now for $50. Don't know if you are willing to pay that much but it will give you a number of rocker switches and other parts.

they have a lot of rocker switches,  not an exact match, but maybe one will work.

Re: Power rocker switches

I decided to tear into my VT-22 this morning and check out the 3 power-related rocker switches.  They are all Carlings so it is no surprise they are failing. ;-)

After measuring everything I believe I've found some drop-in replacements made by Cherry and available at Newark Electronics.  They are local to me so I'm going to pick up 3 replacements tomorrow and try my luck.  If they work then I'll post all the part numbers.

Re: Power rocker switches

Geoffrey,

That is great news. I'll be standing by to see if they do the trick.

Re: Power rocker switches

SUCCESS!!!

Here are the parts:
ON/OFF & STANDBY: MFG CO: Cherry PART #: GRF22N2BBBNN
Available at NEWARK ELECTRONICS.  Newark stock #: 01M7897
COLOR: Black
Cost: $0.619 each
POLARITY: Cherry PART #: GRF23N2BBBNN
Newark stock #: 01M7899
COLOR: Black
Cost: $0.69
TOTAL COST FOR ALL 3: $1.93

That's right folks.  A buck 93 will get your 3 power switches up and running again.  These switches are black instead of white but they drop right in with no problem.  The whole job, including all soldering, takes about 7 minutes per switch.  Not included in the time frame is the cussing for not having done it sooner.

I hope this info will help any and all those who have noisy and/or stiff and/or arcing switches.
