What is my 1974 v4b worth?
I am trying to sell my 1974 v4b head. Needs caps and output tubes, my tech conservative estimate of $300-320 to fix. I am trying to figure out what I can net. In good shape, just never been serviced. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: What is my 1974 v4b worth?
Although the prices for V4s have been rising, they still do not fetch the prices of other vintage amplifiers.
in good working order you could fetch up to $700 for it.
(this is using Ebay's completed listings as a guide. Which usually gives a good idea of what people are willing to pay for something)
if you sold it as is... I imagine you would get $200-300. hard to say though.

I'd say it's priceless, unless you want to sell it to me...

Re: What is my 1974 v4b worth?
Does it work and sound decent as-is? $500
Or does it currently sound bad and thus needs a cap job and output tubes? $200
All amps of this age "need" caps and most need output tubes if they are original. Not a big deal unless someone HAS to immediately put that into it in order to get it to be usable at all.
Just my opinion, but I buy and sell amps all the time.
