Found in a basement... Ampeg SVT
I just wanna brag, I guess?
I found a post on craigslist with no pictures for a '70s SVT and bass amp was spelled as "base amp." It was a $1000 with the offer of a cab of some sort... I opted to check it out, as that's a good price just for a '70s SVT head.
The poor guy was late on a mortgage payment and had no power. He'd run an extension cord from a neighbor to power the head. He led me into his dark basement with a flashlight and, holy snap... I picked it up. I got the head and cab for $1000. I've never seen a flat back in this kind of condition. Clearly, he didn't know how amazing this rig was.
I feel bad for him, but even more to the much better bass players who deserve this more than I... ah well, it's mine, it's been my holy grail for years, and now I have it. With this and my V4B, my quest for gear is over. It feels a bit sad. Almost. 
Now, I have to sell my SVT2 and a 1540HE and all the leftover 10s in a crappy classic enclosure that aren't broken in order to afford this! But damn! What a find! I'm stoked!

If it was a non pro, I'd probably find a way to keep it.
