Increasing capacitance on a ~74 V-4B ?

I need to tell a guy how much a re-cap is going to be.  I will go with JJs and/or F&Ts, not a flip-top kit, fwiw.  It occurred to me that the plate supply could be beefed up a bit.  ~50uF on a bass amp isn't a lot really and there are 220uF and up cans available.  Has anyone done this?   Does it make an audible difference?

Worked for the original SVT.

I like the stock configuration, but I tend to dislike a stiff feel in a bass amp.

Have removed 220uf from plenty of v4s.

He does play bass through it.  It's set up with 6550s and an extra filament transformer jic.
