B25B/V3 Electrolytics

Been looking all over for replacement caps in the 30uf/600V range for a couple projects I have coming up. I ordered a cap kit from Fliptops awhile back for a b25 but I was not really impressed with the minuscule 30/600's in that kit. I'm looking for something similar to what originally came in the amp. I see aes has some nice looking CE Mfg 25/600's that I'm thinking about subbing in.

What do you guys think of these two choices?

Re: B25B/V3 Electrolytics

Why not get two 80uf caps at 450V. And put them in series with a few 100k-220k 2watt resistors across them?  Ala fender's power supply...

You don't have to limit yourself to those options.   Frankly I think the CE caps are garbage.   I like that they are US made,  but I've seen too many of them blow up.

There is enough room in there that you could make a small turret board, or eyelet board and just mount them like that.

Re: B25B/V3 Electrolytics

Thanks for your input Hangman. I ended up using the CE's for one of the amps that I was working on. Now I have two B25B's ready to go on the bench and I'm thinking of going the turretboard route. What brand and supplier would you recommend for the 80uf/450V caps?

Thanks,
Bill

I think F&T or sprague atoms are the only way to go.   The F&Ts being my cap of choice

Thanks again Hangman! I ordered up some F+T cans and axial's from AES along with some turret board materials, they seemed to have good prices on all of the above. Gonna try to get started on these this weekend if all goes as planned. Maybe I'll post some pics if they turnout decent.
